Viking Dishwasher Repair in Los Angeles

Drain, spray, fill and leak diagnosis on Viking panel-front and integrated dishwashers.

A Viking panel-front dishwasher fails at the water path far more often than at its electronics. Standing water, a gritty top rack and a damp cabinet floor are three symptoms on one map: fill, spray, sump, drain.

What we get called for

Water left standing in the tub when the cycle ends
A blocked drain loop, a packed sump or debris in the drain pump — very often not a pump replacement.
Top rack coming out gritty while the bottom is clean
A cracked diverter or a blocked upper spray feed sending water the wrong way.
Seepage along the bottom of the door
A flattened door seal or a leak at the sump gasket that only shows under full fill.
Machine dead on the panel, or stopping partway through
A door latch switch that never sees the door as closed, or a thermistor stalling the cycle mid-programme.

Worth checking before you pay anyone

  1. Bail the tub out and take the sump filter off. A packed sump explains standing water, a gritty upper rack and a mid-cycle stop all at the same time.
  2. Look at the drain hose loop under the sink. A loop that has dropped, or a disposal spigot with its factory plug still in it, will not drain no matter how good the pump is.
  3. Start a fill and watch the door sill. Seepage that only shows at full load is usually a flattened seal rather than a cracked tub.

What the visit is

  • A diagnosis, not a guess. Panels off, meters on the machine, the fault found and then shown to you rather than described down the phone.
  • The price before the work. Which band the repair falls into is set out below, and the figure for your machine is agreed with you before anything is opened up further.
  • Parts on board. Drain pumps, inlet valves, diverters, door seals, latch switches and lift cables ride on the van.
  • Back the way it was. Built-ins come out on protection and go back with the panel gaps as they were.

What the repair itself costs

The service call

Flat $89 service call covering the visit and full diagnosis, credited against the repair once you approve it.

Igniter or burner assembly
$180–$460
Oven thermostat or heating element
$210–$430
Refrigeration fan or defrost system
$290–$660
Dishwasher pump or control
$210–$380
Control board or touch panel
$420–$620
Compressor or sealed-system repair
$1,490–$3,040

Each line is a range because the part, the labour and the access differ from one machine to the next. The figure for your machine is worked out at the visit and agreed with you before any work starts — and the $89 service call comes off it the moment you approve the job.

For comparison — a comparable Viking replacement, before installation — $6,980–$15,730. On a cabinet that is otherwise sound, that gap is usually what makes the repair the sensible way round.

  • Ours would not start at all, though the panel lit up as though nothing was wrong. The door latch switch had failed, so it never saw the door as closed. Replaced, and it starts on the first touch.

  • Top rack came out with grit baked onto the glasses while the lower rack was spotless. A cracked diverter in the sump was sending water the wrong way. One part, and it washes evenly again.

    Trina H.Los Feliz

  • The door dropped open on its own and landed on my foot more than once. Both lift cables had frayed off their spools and one spring was slack. He rethreaded and replaced them, and it holds at any angle now.
